The “KALAMIT” series of magnetic separators for machine tool coolants is an economical choice. This "Green" filter requires no replacement filter media and can be helpful in reclaiming valuable ferrous metal solids.

The KALAMIT (Magnetic) filter separates magnetic particles from water based coolants and whole oils and can be used with oils up to a maximum viscosity of 20° cSt at 100°F (40°C). Filtration capacity is for flow ranges from 8 - 105.6 gpm (30 to 500 lt/min).

What makes the Kalamit Coolant Filter Different?

These magnetic separators are fabricated from a heavy duty galvanized sheet metal. All components are shaped by an automatic bending machine without welding and they are finished with a high quality powder coated finish for a long life.

They KALAMIT consists of a load-bearing frame equipped with a permanent magnet unit connected by a central shaft to a motor reduction unit. The magnetic separator is fitted with a sludge scraping blade and is slightly pitched on an inclination slide to aid in drying out the separated sludge.

The KALAMIT magnetic separator includes the following elements: housing cover and flow breaking pre-chambers, tanks to collect the decontaminated liquids, an electric control panel, re-circulation pumps and numerous options are available.  How It Works;

The contaminated liquid flows by gravity or by pressure into the magnetic separator (1). The jet breaker (2) evenly disperses the flow, as the contaminated fluid enters the separation chamber (3). The rotating magnet unit (4) collects the magnetic particles, which are subsequently removed by a special comb-blade (6), which also pushes the sludge (7) onto an adjustable slide (8). The cleaned liquid (5) passes to a containment tank.

The magnetic disk cleaner does not use disposable filtering elements and facilitates the differentiated waste disposal of the collected sludge.

Options An example of how the KALAMIT magnetic separator (1) fits right on the top of our Easyband or Evotech gravity bed filters to remove ferrous metal for enhanced scrap salvage or to extend the life of the filter media.

The Kalamit separator can be supplied on a tank with a pump as well.
