PRE & AFTER FILTERS
Machine tool processes can produce hundreds of combinations of different pollutants: mists, fine-mists, vapours, smoke, odours, metal dust and swarfs. Our range of MODULAR pre- and after-filters, used in combination with centrifugal air filters can eliminate any kind of pollutant. Let's see the various filters, how they work and when to use them.
METALLIC/SYNTHETIC PRE-FILTER
It is recommended for those machining processes producing a large quantity
of OIL MIST MIXED WITH METAL DUST AND SWARFS. Equipped with two filtration
stages (one metallic and one synthetic), this pre-filter collects the solid
pollutants before they reach the air filter. In this way the air filter
functioning is not compromised by deposits of metal particles, dust or grease
which could unbalance the rotor or block its filters prematurely. Filtration
efficiency remains optimal and maintenance operation can be done at longer
intervals.
ELECTROSTATIC AFTER-FILTER
This is used together with our single and double centrifuge air filters,
in order to eliminate FINE OIL MISTS AND SMOKE. The electrostatic filter
consists of two elements: an ionizer and a collector. The air filtered by
the oil mist collector and containing residues of fine mists and smoke (particles
< 0.1 micron) is conveyed to the ionizer section where the particles are
charged positively. The air then proceeds to the collector which, by the
principle of attraction and repulsion of electrostatic charges, captures
and definitively retains the polluting solid particles while the recovered
liquid part is sent back to the machine tool.
FIBREGLASS AFTER-FILTER
This after-filter retains polluting particles thanks to the following main
filtration effects: diffusion, inertia and direct interception. It is recommended
for those machining processes producing fine mists from soluble oil mixed
with dusts (especially of conducting materials: e.g. cast iron processes,
pressure die-casting etc.). Our after-filter is available in various models
with three different levels of efficiency: EU7, EU9 and EU13. The last one
is able to retain also some smokes. The fibreglass after-filter can be used
in combination with the three kinds of air filters (turbine single and double
centrifuge) and with all our modular filtration units.
ACTIVATED CARBONS AFTER-FILTER
This final filter can be combined with all our single and double centrifuge
units also together with the electrostatic after-filter and with the synthetic-metallic
pre-filter. It is used to eliminate bad or dangerous odours deriving from
some particular work processes such as induction hardening, spark-erosion
with dielectric liquids etc. The polluting particles are adsorbed by the
surface of the activated carbons grains which, thanks to a special activation
process present an internal surface superior to 1300 m2/gr. Thanks to these
special features, active carbons can adsorb particles with dimensions <
0,1 micron and gases. The activated carbons after-filter can be used on
oil mist collectors in combination with the electrostatic or with the fibreglass
filter to eliminate at the same time fine oil mists, vapours, smoke and
odours
